Due Diligence in the Time of Ransomware

When hit with ransomware, organizations must decide whether to pay or not. Such decisions may seem easy in the abstract, but in practice they require rigorous due diligence. Some governments are considering whether to require due diligence prior to payment. This talk will explore due diligence during a ransomware attack and how such analysis could benefit both organizations and society.

Mapping the Cybercriminal Ecosystem

Although cybercrime is now a national security threat, our understanding of the cybercriminal ecosystem remains limited. The industry needs a holistic map to conduct effective disruption, allocate resources efficiently, and impose meaningful costs on criminal actors. The WEF has initiated a project to develop this map. This panel will discuss the mapping project’s results to date and where it is going.
