Cyberwar has not quite turned out like many people thought it would, but nation-state conflict still plays out in cyberspace. From information operations to critical infrastructure disruption, cyberspace is both a battlefield and a medium for operations. Unlike other domains, however, private sector companies have a much larger role in cyberspace than just supplying weapons. They actively defend against attacks, collect and share intelligence, and provide services to other organizations, and they are often headquartered in countries not directly involved in the conflict. What is the role for private sector cybersecurity companies in conflict? How can they organize to provide support? What will these activities look like in the future?
